Rajon Rondo did not get on the team bus with the rest of the Bulls before their game against the Wizards on Tuesday, according to TMZ Sports.

TMZ Sports reports that Rondo got into a private car at the team’s hotel in D.C., and departed for the Verizon Center.

A Bulls spokesperson told the website that Rondo often goes to the arena early before the team bus departs the hotel, so he can get in extra work before the game.

Rondo, who played 27 minutes in Tuesday’s 101-99 loss, was coming off a five-game benching by Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg.

We understand their warped logic — and even predicted this exact scenario. The Kings have been laughingstocks since the mid-2000s, and they know because of their losing and location 87 miles from the Warriors’ Oracle Arena, it’s next to impossible to attract major free agents. Plus, they waited too long to deal Cousins, even when the Lakers, in June 2015, made them a pretty enticing offer after they drafted D’Angelo Russell and made him the centerpiece of a deal, along with Julius Randle. The Lakers now like what they have, and that same trade offer won’t be on the table, as SN reported Wednesday.

Now with their new 17,600-seat arena, the Kings are all about investing in Cousins. They’re scared to death that he might walk out of the door as a free agent in 2018. In reality, they should be mortified by the thought of what he might do to their franchise as he continues to accumulate power, despite never leading the team to a winning season since becoming a King in 2010.

Rene Robert Jersey I love it here in Sacramento, he said after the Kings defeated the Pistons on a night when several fans had to be moved from their seats when the roof sprung a leak. It’s where I want to be.
